I overheard a tourist saying that Penang is a plastic bag city. I agree fully, even more so with the messy election flags & posters everywhere. I still remember in the 1980s, when Penang was so much more beautiful. I would go fishing in Tanjung Bungah, and there were lots of fish, and even shells, hermit crabs along the beach. In Gurney drive, there would be lots of King Crabs on the beach. Now, we only have plastic bags and mud. If this is what reinventing Penang is, I want no part of it. Make no mistake, out Pearl has lost it's shine. Beautiful old trees have been replaced with plastic palm trees and fake fire works.
These people think that beautifying Penang means more lights and concrete...thats whey they will build another concrete jungle where the turf club is.
