My clinic is 1 km away from Intel in Penang but I have no electricity ndno water this afternoon. Ok electricity is back now after 30 minutes. Still it is amazing that this is still happening in the industrial area in Penang.

The hospital is also affected. There is blackout in the late afternoon...
Penang hit by blackout

PENANG: A major part of the island was hit by a blackout after a power trip at the Tenaga Nasional Bhd (TNB) substation in Juru.
The power failure which occurred at about 3.30pm affected several areas in George Town, Air Itam, Tanjung Bungah and Pulau Tikus for about 90 minutes.
Several areas in Bayan Lepas were hit for about 10 minutes while parts of Seberang Prai and the southern part of Kedah also reported blackouts.
The state assembly sitting was disrupted while some 20 people were trapped in a lift at Komtar.
Security personnel and Fire and Rescue Department officers forced open the lift to free the people comprising mostly civil servants.
Traffic in the inner city of George Town turned chaotic when the traffic lights stalled.
Penang traffic operations chief DSP K. Wari said 60 policemen were immediately deployed at traffic congested areas to ensure smooth traffic flow.
Tenaga Nasional Bhd (TNB) customer service and marketing senior manager Mohd Zahir Md Nagor said the power interruption occurred due to tripping at the 275kV transmission line at the Juru substation.
“A technical team was immediately deployed to the substation to rectify the problem,” he said.
A statement issued by TNB showed that by 4pm, power supply was restored in stages at 90% of the affected areas.
At press time, the actual cause had yet to be ascertained. TNB said its engineering teams were still on the ground to monitor the situation although power supply had been fully restored.
