Malaysia Wants to Regulate the Internet

Malaysia Wants to Regulate the Internet

Another sad statement by probably an internet ignorant politician. You cannot ban the internet unless you want to ban free speech. The only way is if you want to follow the taliban and ban the internet entirely, thus plunging our belowed country into the stone ages. I don't normally care about politics but recently the blatant wastage of our taxes and arrogance of our politicians are just too much.

What is the real reason for wanting this? To stop
"disharmony and chaos" according to the deputy science and technology minister. This is a pretty weak and pathetic reason. This is supposed to be a civilized country or a dictatorship? Is this Malaysia or China, Iran or North Korea??? I remember after the "bloody Sunday" protests and, I think it was the Police Chief for the region said something along the lines that most Malaysians not being mature enough to understand the reasons for the protest is why they took action. I believe demeaning comments like these reveal the immaturity of the leaders who make them. Malaysia's evolving situation kinda reminds me of when the people of Indonesia rioted against Susharto.

Megalomania: Noun. Obsession with the exercise of power.

One can only hope that our leaders will wake up and start making the right decisions before it is too late.
