Study reveals how your brain sleeps

Your brain never stops working. But it does cease talking to itself when you lose consciousness, a new study shows. When we're awake, different parts of the brain use chemicals and nerve cells to communicate constantly across the entire network...

Yeah when we sleep our brain just cycles in to a differant gear..never actually stops, from looking at EEGs of sleeping patients I have seen slowing but never a cessation of electrical activity, never,, thats death. ElectroCerebralSilence.
We dont need sleep per se' but we do need Delta waves for some reason..which are large electrical synchronizations resulting in large amplitude slow brain waves..
