Beware Motorcycle Snatch Thieves at Gurney Drive

A few days ago I witnessed a snatch theft right before my eyes in front of Gurney Plaza. As usual it was jammed and suddenly a motorcycle did a sudden U turn in front of me. I was cursing him when suddenly he accelerated and grabbed the handbag of a lady by the sidewalk. He sped off without anyone pursuing him as it was jammed.
Quite shocking, and the guy was nicely dressed in a black shirt. The girl could have easily been pulled onto the road and knocked down by a car.
I wish the police on motorbikes would patrol these high crime areas and give chase instead of catching people for parking offenses or not wearing seatbelts.
