Why is the Penang Bus Service so terrible?

How come other countries can have good services and ours is like rojak? The states knee jerk reaction in changing zones and now wanting to buy new busses is crazy. Get honest experts to find out the problem and fix it. Why can't they learn from Singapore?

Good service means you have to pay more for the bus. Like training the drivers, upgrade the bus terminals, change to new bus etc.. all these cost will pass down to consumer. Given a choice, I'll rather drive. I think it is much cheaper to own a car and drive in Malaysia than in Singapore.

No need to learn from Singapore-lah. Long time ago when there were City Council bus, Lim Seng Seng Bus, service wasn't bad what. Unless you stay away from the main routes. Since they revamp the system worse, boh cheng hu, drivers do anything they like. Then revamp again, given back the licence to the same people who did a lousy job the previous 10 years. What to expect, of course nothing change-lah. Same management, same lousy philosophy and same lousy work ethics!! Just get tender, if bus system not better at least somebody with idea got a chance.

Yes, Penangites can afford to pay, but the problem is that they simply raise the price, but it's the same old con job and bad service. It's very sad.
Another crazy thing is the Marina. They spent millions to build it, now it's unusable coz it's too shallow...amazing!
Look at the new hospital building in Penang GH...it's cracked already before even opening, and cannot get a CV!
