Mobile Phone Use = Drunk Driving Risk

Just read this in the BBC :

Chatting on a mobile phone is at least as dangerous as driving while over the legal alcohol limit, new research shows.

The University of Utah study, like others, found hands-free mobiles were just as distracting as handheld ones.

Although the work involved volunteers and driving simulators, the authors say there is now enough evidence to warrant banning all mobile use when driving.

Currently in the UK, use of hands-free phones by motorists is permitted.

Under existing legislation, they can, however, be prosecuted if it is proved that they are not in proper control of their vehicle.
