Should I stay Down Under?

It's coming close to the time for me to decide to return to Malaysia to work as a GP, or to continue working in Australia as a registrar. Time for me to apply for PR too and worried about family and jobs. With 630 Malaysians migrating everyday it's easy to see why. Despite he high tax in Australia it is easy to live a comfortable middle class life as a doctor. Affording a nice car and house is not hard even as a junior doctor here. Anyway I will blog more in a series of blog entries about my experience working here in Geelong.
As I type this in the doctors room(Rezzies) there are 3 other doctors here, 1 Malaysian from Penang, 1 chinese girl and another indian doctor. In fact in Geelong, I would say 30% of the doctors here are international doctors. Most of them have PR or are first generation Australians, but it's not even a big issue here. In fact people never discriminate you based on where you are from, but more of how you do your work and interact with others.

Yes, please blog more about life in Aussie. I might put that in my consideration too! ;)

And for u, I think if u r happy with the life there, its better to stay put there.

National health scheme in Msia will kick off very soon, and private GPs' future might become a little uncertain in the next 10 years.

Have u cleared ur part 2?

Regards,
Spinosum

I am not doctor. i migrated from msia to melbourne in 2001 due to work opportunity. No regret, and nothing to look back except my family in penang. Taxes maybe high, but you get better environment to live, better education for kids, and most of all, no distrimination from government policy. If you are looking for simple life, as average middle class, this can be achieved easily.
