Trevalla in Geelong

Every winter this deep sea fish comes into the bay to spawn. They cone right into Geelong at the Cunningham Pier and are a delight to catch and eat.

The main school is not in yet but smaller schools of bigger trevalla up to 900 grams are coming in the evenings. Just at dusk they are on the bite for just 30 minutes.

Best bait? Chicken breast in small strips on a small 8.0 longshank hook. They are pretty tricky fish feeding at different levels. Sometimes just below the surface but sometimes deep. Once you find the level and with a but if burley you can catch a good feed. Maximum bag limit is 20.
