I spoke to a friend who was applying to migrate to Australia. He said that in January when he inquired, there were 5000 applications for immigration from Malaysia to Australia. When he applied in February, there were 20,000 applications. I am not sure if it is true, but certainly I know of a few families that have gone down under.

Hi Doc,
I cannot confirm the stats you shared but, as an Australian immigration agent I can say that there has been an increase in applications. I suppose the appeal of Australia is growing amidst the severe crisis in the US and troubles in other popular migration destination.
