I was wondering why my car radio reception wasn't very good. I found out there is an extra 6 inches of antenna (green arow) if you firmly pull it out. There is a built in bend to the antenna so that it will not scrape the ceiling. However the bend makes it dfficult to pull out the remaining 6 inches. There is some improvement in the reception after this.
