How to Spot a Fake Samsung WEP 200

I did not realise there were so many fake Bluetooth Headsets, in particular the popular Samsng WEP200. I recently bought one online over lelong, and I might as well help you learn from my mistakes. I will take more pictures to help you identify them. On the outside everything looks just like the Samsung WEP 200 but it is the quality that is very telling.
1. Price.
The fake ones are sold at 1/3 the price at about RM60. Be suspicious of anything that seems too good a deal. As per the old adage:
"Anything cheap is not good, anything good is not cheap!"
2. Extra Ear Holder
The original one does not come with an extra "ear hanger". It is meant to hold in place without it.
3. Bluetooth Label on the Charger
On the charger box, it is labelled Bluetooth and not Samsung.
4. Samsung Label
On the headset itself the Samsung label easily scratches off.
5. Seriel numbers don't match
The seriel number on the flimsy box does not correspond to the seriel number printed on the headset.
6. Poor audio quality and poor battery life
The original headset is very good, however the call quality in the fake is terrible. Full of static and definitely not Bluetooth 2.0 compliant.
7. The Charger is not a typical Samsung charger with a square connector. Instead it is a generic round nokia like charger.

SO THE CASE IS SUPPOSE TO SAY SAMSUNG IF ITS A REAL WEP200? AND THE FAKE HAS BLUETOOTH ON THE CASE?
Yes but another giveaway is the charger connection is not a samsung type charger.
ARggh, why didn't i checked earlier! Just bought one from Lelong fro RM58. My phone with BT2.0 cannot detect it. Nw sure know why. Sudah terkena la.......

ok, now I'm really confused. I just got mine from ecost.com and the way it is packaged, it is either OEM or fake but most of the telltale signs aren't there.
1. the charging case says SAMSUNG
2. the ac adapter has the CAUTION sticker
3. an over the ear hook was included
4. I have no box
the instruction book is thick and correctly printed
5. buttons are solid
6. light changes from red to blue after full charge
7. printing on the headset is clean and precise
8. text on underside of headset

I bought a WEP200. Im not sure if it's fake because it comes with a samsung charger and round and also the case that says samsung on top but I get static on the headset. How do I know if it is fake?
NOT ALL authentic Samsung WEP200's have the square plug. The EARLY authentic WEP200's actually DO have the pin type plug, but the rest of the differences are legit.

Your headset is real, but someone might have packaged the wrap around earpiece into the box not knowing about the reals/fakes. It depends on where you buy them at. Some distributors recieve reals and fakes. Sounds like you got a real headset with a fake wrap around.
Hi I just received my wep200 from a third seller on amazon GLOBAZAR. I am confused because I did my research and everything seems real about the bluetooth except for the charger not being round, it's rectangular instead and has the samsung logo on it but still has the caution sticker on it.
Everything else seems to be real:
1. the charging case says SAMSUNG
2. the box is neat and made of good quality.
3. the instruction book is thick and correctly printed, no staples.
4. buttons are solid
5. light changes from red to blue after full charge
7. printing on the headset is clean and precise
8. text on underside of headset
