Toddy in a Coke Bottle
When I was in Sungai Petani I had a taste of some fresh toddy freshly collected in the morning. It was kept in a Coke bottle. Tastes sweet and yeasty.

Toddy in a bottle?? Do you know if there is any toddy shop in Penang? There is one in jelutong right? Toddy a great replacement for yeast in making a savoury buns. Is it safe to drink? I would like to have a swig!!!
Actually there is a Toddy shop in Pulau Tikus, next to the old post office. But the toddy there is diluted...according to my friend! Ya it's safe to drink the fresh toddy. It has a sweet,fizzy,yeasty taste. I didn't get any diarrhoe. It is used for Huat Koeh and Thosai,it makes cakes very fluffy.
