Eczema and Asthma Gene Identified

This is quite exciting news as it may lead to a cure to these widespread problems in the future. The Herald reports :

"...scientists at Dundee University added to the already impressive tally. They have discovered the genetic fault which makes people susceptible to eczema and other skin conditions, including those associated with asthma.
...The Dundee researchers have now begun testing thousands of eczema sufferers to discover how they are affected by the genetic defect. They are also trying to develop preventative techniques that could allow doctors to screen and treat babies before the symptoms of the skin condition develop."
