More Haze Info at Hazeonline

Bernama - PENANG, June 26 (Bernama) -- Hazy condition on this island has worsened, with visibility in Bayan Lepas reduced to two kilometres as at 2pm Sunday from between three and four kilometres Sunday morning.
However, visibility in Butterworth improved to about two kilometres this afternoon from between 0.8 to 1.2Km Sunday morning, said a Kuala Lumpur-based spokesman of the Meteorological Services Department.
He said visibility in Alor Star was between two and five kilometres while in Ipoh between five to six kilometres in the morning.
"We cannot predict how long this condition will persist if forest fires in Sumatra are still raging.
"On Friday, the Meteorological Services Department detected 508 small hotspots in Sumatra but Saturday, only three hotspots were found because of thick cloud over the area," he said.
Haze enveloped several northern states in the peninsula over the past several days when the southwest monsoon carried smoke from forest fires in Sumatra to the areas.
Absence of rain worsened the condition, he added.

I just came across a site dedicated to Haze..Hazeonline. A lot of interesting and updated news on the bad haze in our region.
